Viral communication: public response to the COVID-19 pandemic
The present project is an examination of the experiences of the German populace during the pandemic, the challenges they are facing, and their strategies for dealing with these challenges. A central tenet of this study is the information that is available to the German population about the pandemic and how they manage to access it. To this end, we are undertaking a comprehensive data collection initiative, encompassing the dimensions of access, comprehension, and dissemination of information. Additionally, we are interested in the assessment of misinformation, risk perception, and attitudes towards coronavirus measures. The findings of this research will be translated into concrete recommendations for action, with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of countermeasures and mitigating the spread of misinformation. The objective of this initiative is twofold: first, to mitigate the adverse societal impacts of the pandemic, and second, to foster a sense of solidarity within the population.
